Dear God, open a door for my message, so that I may proclaim the mystery of Christ. I pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Colossians 4:3-4

Prayer to Saint Joseph (over 1900 years old)

O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that, having engaged here below your Heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for us. Amen.

Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire. It has seldom been known to fail. This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In 1505, it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whosoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it, will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on them. They will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will they be defeated in battle. Make this prayer known everywhere.

Memorare to Saint Joseph

Remember,
O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone
who implored your help and sought
your intercession was left unassisted.
Full of confidence in your power,
I fly to you, and beg your protection.
Despise not, O foster-father of the Redeemer,
my humble supplication, but in your bounty,
hear and answer me.
Amen.

March is dedicated to Saint Joseph

Almost everything we know about St. Joseph comes from the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John in the Holy Bible. Saint Joseph is a silent, patient, obedient and humble servant of God. He was a descendant of the house of David, lineage through Solomon. andwidely known as a carpenter by trade. Saint Joseph was the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster-father of Jesus our Savior (guardian of the Lord), the Son of God. The feast of the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated on 19 March. In 1847 Pope Pius IX solemnly proclaimed Saint Joseph "Patron and Protector of the Universal Church" and in 1955 Pope Pius XII established 1 May as the "Feast of St. Joseph the Worker". Saint Joseph is the advocate in all necessities, he is also the Patron of a Happy Death and a provider of financial help, particularly to the poor.

Jesus was obedient to His earthly life parents, and He will be delighted to hear with a special readiness to Saint Joseph pleadings on behalf of those who invoke his prayer and intercession. Therefore, we can place our boundless confidence in hi, in all the affairs of life.

Behold the faithful and prudent servant whom the lord placed at the head of His family. Prayer to Saint Joseph for a Difficult Problem

O Glorious St. Joseph, thou who hast power to render possible even things which are considered impossible, come to our aid in our present trouble and distress.

Take this important and difficult affair under thy particular protection, that it may end happily. (Mention Your Request)

O dear St. Joseph, all our confidence is in thee. Let it not be said that we would invoke thee in vain; and since thou art so powerful with Jesus and Mary, show that thy goodness equals thy power. Amen.

St. Joseph, friend of the Sacred Heart, pray for us.

Matthew 1:18-25
Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:

“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”

which means, “God is with us.” When Joseph awoke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took her as his wife, but had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son; and he named him Jesus.

St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Solemnity) ~ 2014

We celebrate the patronage of St. Joseph and the Church asks for his intercession and protection. St. Joseph, the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster-father of Jesus. In God's plan and will, he was destined to become the spouse of the Mother of God. Joseph faithfully accepted the will God obediently and he fulfilled the trust God in him by caring, protecting and guarding God's greatest treasures upon earth, Jesus and Mary. In the gospel, St. Joseph was called to be the husband of Mary and in accepting to do so he was also taking the responsibility to take charge and to protect Jesus as his son. Joseph was not wealthy but he was a silent man, a prudent man, a listener, a compassionate man (Matthew 1:19, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly), a strong man, a courageous man (Matthew 2:13-14, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, .... Joseph got up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt ....) and he loved Mary and Jesus. The bible does not mentioned about Joseph death, but tradition says that he died some time before the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. St. Joseph has been called the Protector of the Redeemer by Pope John Paul ll.

Liturgical veneration of St. Joseph, started somewhere in 15th century and was fostered by St. Brigid of Sweden and St. Bernadine of Siena. At current time there are two feast day dedicated to St. Joseph, 19 March is to venerate and honour him personally in the role as husband of Mary, the Mother of God and head of the Holy Family, and on 1 May we honour him as St. Joseph the worker (Joseph was a carpenter by trade), the patron of workmen (workers) throughout the world. St. Joseph is also known as the Protector of Virginity, for respecting Mary’s divine motherhood all his life. He was proclaimed the patron of Universal Church by Pope Pius IX on 8 December, 1870.

St. Joseph, the shadow of the Eternal Father upon earth, the protector of Jesus in His home at Nazareth, and a lover of all children for the sake of the Holy Child, should be the chosen guardian and pattern of every true Christian family.

“Saint Joseph is a man of great spirit. He is great in faith,
not because he speaks his own words,
but above all because he listens
to the words of the Living God.
He listens in silence.
And his heart ceaselessly perseveres in the readiness
to accept the Truth contained in the word of the Living God,”
~ * ~ Pope John Paul II ~ * ~

"Let us allow ourselves to be infected
by the silence of St. Joseph,
We need it very much, in a world that is often too noisy."
~ * ~ Pope Benedict XVI ~ * ~
Angelus Message on the Feast of St. Joseph, 2006

We ask St. Joseph,
the earthly Guardian of the Blessed Virgin Mary
and the foster father of Jesus,
to show and teach us to love unconditionally
and to be good and faithful servants of the Lord.

Grant, we pray, almighty God, that by Saint Joseph's intercession your Church may constantly watch over the unfolding of the mysteries of human salvation, whose beginnings you entrusted to his faithful care. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

2 Samuel 7: 4 - 5, 12 - 14, 16

4But that same night the word of the LORD came to Nathan,
5"Go and tell my servant David, `Thus says the LORD: Would you build me a house to dwell in?
12When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
13He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14I will be his father, and he shall be my son. When he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men;
16And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever.'"

Psalms 89: 2 - 5, 27, 29

5Let the heavens praise thy wonders, O LORD, thy faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones!
27And I will make him the first-born, the highest of the kings of the earth.
29I will establish his line for ever and his throne as the days of the heavens.

Romans 4: 13, 16 - 18, 22

13The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that they should inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.
16That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his descendants -- not only to the adherents of the law but also to those who share the faith of Abraham, for he is the father of us all,
17as it is written, "I have made you the father of many nations" -- in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.
18In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations; as he had been told, "So shall your descendants be."
22That is why his faith was "reckoned to him as righteousness."

41Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover.
42And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom;

46After three days they found him in the temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions;

48And when they saw him they were astonished; and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us so? Behold, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously."
49And he said to them, "How is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"
50And they did not understand the saying which he spoke to them.

Nine Days Novena to Saint Joseph

This prayer was found in the 50th year of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and in the 16th century, it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. It is said that whoever shall read this prayer or take it with them, shall never die a sudden death or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them; neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy, or shall be burned in any fire or shall be overpowered in battle.

Say this prayer for nine days for anything you may desire. Then let go and let God. Trust that whatever is the outcome of your novena is truly what is best for you in accordance with the will of God.

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
O Saint Joseph, assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
O Saint Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. Amen
O Saint Joseph, hear my prayers and obtain my petitions. O Saint Joseph, pray for me. (Mention your intention)

Feast of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary

On 19 March annually, Catholic honours Saint Joseph as the husband of Mary in a feast celebration. This feast is formally known as the Solemnity of Saint Joseph Spouse of The Blessed Virgin Mary. It is celebrated with Holy Mass and  also prayerful devotion to him as an intercessor with Almighty God.
Saint Joseph the model of humility and holiness, and also patron for fathers everywhere. He cared for the Son of God, despite Jesus not being his own Son. His devotion towards Mary, despite his suspicions of her infidelity, and his willingness to listen to the angel of God, demonstrate his humility. He was chosen by God the Father before time, as the husband for Mary and foster father for Jesus.

Joseph was carpenter, simple and just man, he was open to all that God wanted to do for him as well as wholeheartedly obedient to God when he took Mary as his spouse, heeding Gods message to him even knowing she was pregnant. After the child was born he also obeyed Gods message again in naming Jesus, in shepherding the precious pair mother and son to Egypt, and in bringing them to Nazareth.

St. Joseph Prayer

"O Blessed St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful
guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God,
we pray and bessech thee to offer to God the Father
His divinve Son, bathed in blood of the Cross for
sinners, and through the thrice-holy Name of Jesus,
obtain for us from the Eternal Father the favor we
implore.
(mention request)

Appease the Divine anger so justly inflamed by our
crimes, beg of Jesus mercy for thy children. Amid the
splendors of eternity, forget not the sorrows of those
who suffer, those who pray, those who weep; stay the
Almighty arm which smites us, that by thy prayers and
those of thy most Holy Spouse, the Heart of Jesus may
be moved to pity and pardon. Amen. St. Joseph, pray
for us. "

Church of Saint Joseph. Bagan Serai

Church of Saint Joseph (1882)
Jalan Parit Buntar, 34300 Bagan Serai, Perak
Tel: 605-7212979

Pioneers of the church of St. Joseph, Bagan Serai are
Fr. Rene Michel Marie Fee (1882 - 1896),
Fr. L. Perrichon (1896 - 1900),
Fr. Duvelle (1900),
Fr. M. Sausseau (1901 - 1905)
and Fr. J. Passail (1906 - 1909).

Fr. Fee had long vision and dreamed of a settlement where Indian Christians could develop and form one community. In 1882, he managed to get a concession of about 200 acres (later increased to 700) near Bagan Serai. "Soosaypaleyam" (St. Joseph's Village) started with Father Fee and 10 pioneers. By 1885, there were more than 30 families and in 1889, the population had grown to 450, with 180 baptisms.

Building of the church started on 1882 and completed on 1905.
