Chaplet of the Immaculate Conception

This chaplet consists of three groups of four beads each. A large bead separates each group, and a medal of the Immaculate Conception is attached to the end. It was composed by St. John Berchmanns, and recited by him daily to obtain, through the intercession of Mary, the grace never to commit any sin against the virtue of purity.

Method of Saying the Chaplet

8-December ~ Feast of the Immaculate Conception ~ The Hour of Grace [12 noon to 1pm]

The 8th of December is an important day - the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. It is also the day on which in 1947 Our Blessed Mother gave us the Hour of Grace.

Our Lady said as follows when she appeared to Sister Pierina in a little church in Montichiari, Italy: "It is my wish that every year, on 8th December, at noon, the HOUR OF GRACE FOR THE WORLD be celebrated. Many divine and bodily graces will be received through this devotion. Our Lord, my Divine Son Jesus, will send His overflowing mercy if good people will pray continuously for their sinful brother.... it is my wish that the HOUR OF GRACE FOR THE WORLD be made known and spread throughout the world. If anyone is unable to visit his church, yet will pray at home, he will also receive graces through me.... will find a secure heavenly ladder and receive protection and grace through my motherly heart."

Our Lady promised she will hear any prayer we make at this time.

THE REQUEST OF OUR BLESSED MOTHER FOR THE HOUR OF GRACE:

1. Day and time of the Hour of Grace: December 8th, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, to be started at 12:00 noon and continuing until 1:00 p.m. for one full hour of prayer.

2. During this hour, the person making the Hour of Grace either at home or at church must put away all distractions (do not answer the telephones, or answer any doors, or do anything but totally concentrate on your union with God during this special Hour of Grace).

3. Begin the Hour of Grace by praying three times the 51st Psalm with out-stretched arms. (Psalm 51 appears below).

4. The rest of the Hour of Grace may be spent in silent communication with God meditating upon the Passion of Jesus, saying the Holy Rosary, praising God in your own way, or by using favourite prayers, singing hymns, meditating upon other psalms, etc.

Psalm 51

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned

Divine Praises

The Divine Praises are a series of praises, recited for generations after the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. They are thought to be originally compiled in 1797 by Luigi Felici, S.J. to make reparation for blasphemy and profane language. Praise of the Immaculate Conception, the Assumption, the Sacred Heart, St. Joseph and the Precious Blood have been added since the mid-nineteenth century.
This is a beautiful prayer that can be recited outside of benediction, especially during the month of January, which is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus. The Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus has been restored by Pope John Paul II to January 3.

The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Solemnity)

We celebrate the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the womb of Saint Anne and 9 months later on 8 September nine months later, on 8 September the feast Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

"the Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin by a singular privilege and grace granted by God in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race."

It reminds us that Mary's sinlessness is not something that Mary achieved by her own power but a gift of God, given to her right from the very moment of her conception in the womb of Saint Anne.

Christ flesh and blood came from Mary as he was the blessed fruit of her womb, the Flesh that was scourged for us, the Blood that was poured for us, the Bread of Life that saved us yesterday, today and tomorrow. 

As we rejoice with Mary, God's most favoured one ("Hail Mary, Full of Grace") on the feast of her conception, let us thank God for His love and mercy which embraces us right from the moment of our own conception. Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated every 8 December, which is 9 months before the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on 8 September.

Brazil, Korea, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, and the United States list the Blessed Virgin Mary as their principal patroness and Ireland consider her a special patroness.

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.

When our hands have touched spices, they give fragrance to all they handle. Let us make our prayers pass through the hands of the Blessed Virgin. She will make them fragrant.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Jesus SDMC Subang window panels at the Church of Lady Of Lourdes, Klang

The Sime Darby Medical Center (SDMC), Subang window panels containing the silhouette image mysterious apparition believe by Catholics as Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ, is currently in display for viewing by Christian, Catholic and public at the Chapel at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

The viewing time is from 7am to 10pm daily. Special masses at the church to cater for the visitors/pilgrims will be conducted by the Church of Lady of Lourdes, Klang on 27 December till 30 December 2012 at 7:15pm as announced in the church's bulletin on 25 December 2012. Morning masses will be as usual.

 Catechesis on Apparitions
by the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

What is the Official position of the Catholic Church on apparitions?

The Catholic Church makes a distinction between public and private revelation.In the case of public revelation, the Church definitely teaches that the entire deposit of faith (all that is necessary for salvation) is to be found in the twin pillars of revelation, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, which comes from the same source, the Word of God, Jesus Christ. There can be no further revelation that can add to or alter the above.

Any other‘revelation’ if determined authentic is to be regarded as private.According to St Thomas Aquinas, God continues to reveal Himself to individuals "not indeed for the declaration of any new doctrine of faith, but for the direction of human acts" (St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica II-II q174 a6 reply 3). Private revelation cannot improve upon, correct or entirely supplant Public Revelation. Apparitions are to be regarded under the category of private rather than public revelation.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:

66 "The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ." Yet even if Revelation is already complete, it has not been made completely explicit; it remains for Christian faith gradually to grasp its full significance over the course of the centuries.

67 Throughout the ages, there have been so-called "private" revelations, some of which have been recognised by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ's definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.

How do we determine whether an apparition is authentic?

On February 25, 1978, the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) issued "Norms of the Congregation for Proceeding in Judging Alleged Apparitions and Revelations."

According to the norms, investigation can be done by the following

1.The diocesan bishop on his own initiative or at the request of the faithful.

2.The national conference of bishops.

3.The Apostolic See (Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith).

The process will involve 3 steps

1.Initially, to judge the facts according to positive (moral certainty, qualities of the subject, conformity with doctrines, healthy devotion) and negative criteria (glaring error as to facts, doctrinal error, pursuit of monetary gain, gravely immoral acts, psychological disorders) .

2.Then, if this examination appears favourable, to allow certain public demonstrations of devotion, while continuing to investigate the facts with extreme prudence (which is equivalent to the formula: “for the moment, nothing is opposed to it”).

3.Finally, after a certain time, and in the light of experience, (starting from a particular study of the spiritual fruits generated by the new devotion), to give a judgment on the authenticity of the supernatural character, if the case requires this.

What is the status of the alleged image of the Blessed Virgin Mary which has appeared on a glass panel of the Sime Darby Medical Centre (formerly Subang Jaya Medical Centre)?

The appearance does not have official approval from the local ordinary, the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, or from the Apostolic See.

The Archbishop has instructed that the glass panel be respectfully placed in a place conducive for prayer in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Klang, pending further investigation to determine its authenticity.

This is not to be interpreted as a tacit approval or recommendation by the church authorities that the image is worthy of private or public veneration.

What is the responsibility of the faithful?

The first responsibility of the faithful is to remain firmly established in the faith, in the sacraments and in communion with the Pope and bishops. Any Catholic who gives their primary attention to alleged private revelation at the expense of Sacred Scripture, the teaching of the Church (especially the Catechism), sacramental practice, prayer and fidelity to Church authority is off course.

The second responsibility is to have regard, in the first place, for those private revelations and apparitions approved by the Church (e.g. Lourdes, Fatima). Within a balanced practice of the faith the edifying content of approved private revelations can be a motive for deeper piety and fidelity to the Gospel.

Finally, there are many other private revelations that have not received Church approval. The Second Vatican Council urges us to discern the Spirit in the case of such extraordinary graces [Lumen gentium 12], which means being neither gullible or incredulous, but subjecting them to all relevant theological and human tests of credibility. Subang SDMC handed over window panel, Blessed Virgin Mary silhouette image

Latest development as at on the 20 November, 2012.

The window panels on which the silhouette image of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was reported to have first been spotted two weeks ago finally removed from Sime Darby Medical Center, Subang and handed over to the Catholic church.
 

SIME Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) in Subang Jaya has removed the 2 window panels in which the silhouette images and handed over to Catholic Church authorities and to be taken the Marian Church of Our Lady Lourdes, Klang. The following decision was made as parish priest of the Church of St Thomas More, Subang Jaya Rev Fr Simon LaBrooy reportedly said on Saturday (17 November, 2012) that the decision was made after consultation with the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Rev Murphy Pakiam. Catholics who witnessed the “apparitions” recognised silhouettes to be the images of Mary of the Immaculate Conception in one and the other image is not confirm as some say it is the Divine Mercy of Jesus, while other says it is Jesus Christ on the crucifix.

 

The removal of the panel from  the North Tower of the hospital complex was done by experts with extreme care and caution. The removal process took about one and a half hour (10:00am - 11:30am) and was a successful mission. The handover process later was witnessed by the church authorities, Catholics, members of the Subang Jaya Parish and the public, who where present at the site.

 

SDMC is grateful and extended it's thanks the Church authorities, Polis Di Raja Malaysia (PDRM), RELA member, and the public for their patience, cooperation and support. SDMC also extended thank its patients and their families, residents in the vicinity of the hospital and all its staff for their patience over the last two weeks.
