By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;
through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. (Proverbs 24:3-4)
Then Jesus said to his disciples, Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. (Matthew 16:24)
He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. (Mark 16:15)
Jesus taught that real giving must come from the heart. A gift that is given with a grudge or for display loses its value. But a gift given out of love, with a spirit of generosity and sacrifice, is precious. The amount or size of the gift doesn't matter as much as the cost to the giver. The poor widow could have kept one of her coins, but instead she recklessly gave away all she had! Jesus praised someone who gave barely a penny - how insignificant a sum - because it was everything she had, her whole living.
Nothing given in love is worthless
What we have to offer may look very small and not worth much, but if we put all we have at the Lord's disposal, no matter how insignificant it may seem, then God can do with it and with us what is beyond our reckoning. Do you give out of love and gratitude for what God has already given to you?
God gives us the chance to change our LIFE! Our God is good, loving, merciful, compassionate, righteous and just. He Alone deserves all Glory and Praise.
Mark 1:16-20 “As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him. When he had gone a little further, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.”
Like in Jonah 3:1, "Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time...." yes, God came back to Jonah and said, I'm going to give you another chance.
What does it mean that God gives us a another chance? We have a another new opportunity (a new grace and blessing) given by God, after losing the earlier ones. This opportunity gives a chance to amend our failures and, to make a better choice and right choice which will change our life.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
