Prayer for Charity, Kindness and Care towards the Less Fortunate brothers and sisters

Thank You Lord for the many graces and blessings you have placed in my life. I offer You my heart-felt gratitude for Your countless gifts to me each day.

In turn, dear Lord, help me to be aware of the needs of my least sisters and brothers, and to respond to those those who are poor and less fortunate with generous expressions of charity, kindness and caring.

On that day Lord, when I finally stand before You to give an account of my life, I pray I will hear you say, “Come O good and faithful servant to share your Father’s joy, for when you saw me hungry, thirsty, naked, homeless, ill and imprisoned, you offered your gifts in charity and you lovingly did it for me”.

Amen.

Truly, I say to you,
as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,
you did it to me.

Feast of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles ~ 28 October, 2014

Saints Simon and Jude, who are among the twelve Apostles. Saint Simon the Zealot (Simon the Lesser), shares the feast with Saint Jude Thaddeus because it is believed both of the apostle traveled east from Palestine into what was then Persia to bring the Gospel to the nations, where they were martyred for the faith in the first century.

Saint Jude is best known to us as the patron saint of hopeless causes.

O God, who by the blessed Apostles have brought us to acknowledge your name, graciously grant, through the intercession of Saints Simon and Jude, that the Church may constantly grow by increase of the peoples who believe in you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Feast of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles
Reading 1
Ephesians 2:19-22
Brothers and sisters:
You are no longer strangers and sojourners,
but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones
and members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.
Through him the whole structure is held together
and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord;
in him you also are being built together
into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 19:2-3, 4-5
R. Their message goes out through all the earth.
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.
Day pours out the word to day,
and night to night imparts knowledge.

R. Their message goes out through all the earth.
Not a word nor a discourse
whose voice is not heard;
Through all the earth their voice resounds,
and to the ends of the world, their message.

R. Their message goes out through all the earth.

Gospel
Luke 6:12-16
Jesus went up to the mountain to pray,
and he spent the night in prayer to God.
When day came, he called his disciples to himself,
and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles:
Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew,
James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew,
Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus,
Simon who was called a Zealot,
and Judas the son of James,
and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

Christian believe in ONE

ONE Lord,
ONE Faith,
ONE Hope,
ONE Baptism,
ONE Holy Spirit,
ONE God and Father of all.

Therefore, abide in God and you will discover that your effectiveness in ministering to your family, your friends, your community, and your parish will grow and bear marvellous fruit.

Heavenly Father,
bless all those You have called.
May they see the dignity
they have in Your eyes.
Open their hearts to the treasure
You have prepared for them.
Amen.

Pope Francis’ Prayer to Mary, star of the new evangelization

Mary, Virgin and Mother,
you who, moved by the Holy Spirit,
welcomed the word of life
in the depths of your humble faith:
as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One,
help us to say our own “yes”
to the urgent call, as pressing as ever,
to proclaim the good news of Jesus.
Filled with Christ’s presence,
you brought joy to John the Baptist,
making him exult in the womb of his mother.
Brimming over with joy,
you sang of the great things done by God.
Standing at the foot of the cross with unyielding faith,
you received the joyful comfort of the resurrection,
and joined the disciples in awaiting the Spirit
so that the evangelizing Church might be born.
Obtain for us now a new ardour born of the resurrection,
that we may bring to all
the Gospel of life which triumphs over death.
Give us a holy courage to seek new paths,
that the gift of unfading beauty
may reach every man and woman.
Virgin of listening and contemplation,
Mother of love, Bride of the eternal wedding feast,
pray for the Church, whose pure icon you are,
that she may never be closed in on herself
or lose her passion for establishing God’s kingdom.
Star of the new evangelization,
help us to bear radiant witness to communion,
service, ardent and generous faith, justice
and love of the poor,
that the joy of the Gospel
may reach to the ends of the earth,
illuminating even the fringes of our world.
Mother of the living Gospel,
wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones,
pray for us.
Amen. Alleluia!

October ~ Month dedicated to our Lady of the Rosary

October is the month of the Holy Rosary, 7th October every year is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The rosary is one of the most cherished prayers of our Catholic Church. Starts with the Creed, the Our Father, three Hail Mary's and the Glory Be, and involves the recitation of five decades consisting of the Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's and the Glory Be. During the recitation, individual's meditates on the saving mysteries (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous) of our Lord's life and the faithful witness of our Blessed Mother.

Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help, or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
we fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, our Mother!
To thee do we come,
before we pray, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not our petitions,
but in thy mercy,
hear and answer them.
Amen.

The Hail Mary reminded the people of the Angelical Salutation and the Providence of God, while it at the same time prepared the soul for and obtained grace by the power of impetration, or by its efficacy as a prayer. The Rosary is the devotion which belongs especially to Our Lady. No one who wishes for the assistance of Mary will neglect her Rosary. Let us then pray the rosary daily, especially praying together with your family and during this Month of the Rosary!

“THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS
THE ROSARY TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER!”

A Prayer for Help ~ Psalm 86

86 Listen to me, Lord, and answer me,
for I am helpless and weak.
2
Save me from death, because I am loyal to you;
save me, for I am your servant and I trust in you.
3 You are my God, so be merciful to me;
I pray to you all day long.
4 Make your servant glad, O Lord,
because my prayers go up to you.
5 You are good to us and forgiving,
full of constant love for all who pray to you.

6
Listen, Lord, to my prayer;
hear my cries for help.
7
I call to you in times of trouble,
because you answer my prayers.
8 There is no god like you, O Lord,
not one has done what you have done.
9 All the nations that you have created
will come and bow down to you;
they will praise your greatness.
10 You are mighty and do wonderful things;
you alone are God.

11
Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do,
and I will obey you faithfully;
teach me to serve you with complete devotion.
12
I will praise you with all my heart, O Lord my God;
I will proclaim your greatness forever.
13
How great is your constant love for me!
You have saved me from the grave itself.
14
Proud people are coming against me, O God;
a cruel gang is trying to kill me—
people who pay no attention to you.
15
But you, O Lord, are a merciful and loving God,
always patient, always kind and faithful.
16
Turn to me and have mercy on me;
strengthen me and save me,
because I serve you just as my mother did.
17
Show me proof of your goodness, Lord;
those who hate me will be ashamed
when they see that you have given me comfort and help.

Holy Guardian Angel Prayer

"Dear angel at my side, my good and loyal friend, you have been with me since the moment I was born. You are my own personal guardian, given me by God as my guide and protector, and you will stay with me until I die. He who created you and me gave me to you as your particular charge. You assisted in great joy at my baptism, when I became part of the mystical body of Christ, and was made a member of the household of God and an heir of heaven. You saw the dangers that beset my path, and, if I sinned, it was in spite of you. You envied me when Christ came to me in Holy Communion. Even though you probably were there among the angels that adored him the night he was born, you have not been able to receive him as I can. Oh, help me to appreciate these gifts! Help me to realize, as you do, with every fiber of my being, that to serve Christ is to be a king! Help me steadfastly to avoid evil and do good and always guard my soul from sin. Protect me as well from physical evils as I go about my daily work. You will be with me all my life, and at the hour of my death. Help me to face death bravely, patiently, with great love of God, knowing that it is only through death that I can come to him in heaven! Then, come with me to my judge, and when the hour of my salvation comes, take me home to my father, God. Amen."
