TEN QUOTES That Will Change the Way You Attend Holy Mass

Many people can’t explain why they stopped coming to church except that life just got in the way. Here are ten quotes that will change your perception of the church, and coming back to attend, participate and celebrate the Holy Mass.

1. When the Eucharist is being celebrated, the sanctuary is filled with countless angels who adore the divine victim immolated on the altar. ~ St. John Chrysostom

2. The angels surround and help the priest when he is celebrating Mass. ~ St. Augustine

3. The celebration of Holy Mass is as valuable as the death of Jesus on the cross. ~ Saint Thomas Aquinas

4. Once, St. Teresa was overwhelmed with God’s Goodness and asked Our Lord “How can I thank you?” Our Lord replied, “ATTEND ONE MASS.”

5. “My Son so loves those who assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that, if it were necessary He would die for them as many times as they’ve heard Masses.” Our Lady to Blessed Alan.

6. When we receive Holy Communion, we experience something extraordinary – a joy, a fragrance, a well-being that thrills the whole body and causes it to exalt. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

7. There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

8. When we have been to Holy Communion, the balm of love envelops the soul as the flower envelops the bee. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

9. It would be easier for the world to survive without the sun than to do without Holy Mass. ~ St. Pio of Pietrelcina

10. If we really understood the Mass, we would die of joy. ~ Saint Jean Vianney

The Eucharist celebration is the real presence of Jesus Christ, where ordinary bread and wine that we lift up in consecration to God, returned to us transubstantiated as the extraordinary and life-giving sacrament of Christ for us. It is made possible by Jesus’ act of complete surrender to the will of the Father, whereby he offers up his life, his love, and finally his body and blood on the Cross. The Vatican II document, Lumen Gentium, calls the Eucharist “the source and summit of Christian life”.

Sweetand Divine Child Jesus, the Holy Infant JESUS of Prague

The Miraculous Image of the Infant Jesus of Prague

"The more you honour me, the more I will bless you."

Devotion to the Infant of Prague is devotion to the Child Jesus, it is veneration of the Son of God, who in the form of an Infant, chose a stable for a birth place, a manger for a cradle, and shepherds for worshippers. Our Saviour grants special graces to all who’s venerate His sacred infancy. It helps us to keep mindful of the great mystery of Jesus’ birth and infancy. Many graces have been received by those who’s invoke the Divine Child before the original Statue that it has been called ”The Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague”. All who approach the miraculous Statue and pray there with confidence” receive assistance in danger, consolation in sorrows, aid in poverty, comforts in anxiety, light in spiritual darkness, streams of grace in dryness of soul, health in sickness and hope in despair.

The statue of the Infant of Prague represents Jesus at his infant years and it stands at height of 47 cm / 19 inch (45 cm figure on a 2 cm base). The Child is dressed in a long, simple, flowing robe which leaves parts of His feet visible. His face is framed by curly, medium-length hair. The core of the statue is carved wood that was most likely covered with linen. The actual surface of the statue is very fragile as it was modelled in coloured wax.

The right hand of the child is raised in blessing, the first two fingers are upraised to symbolize the two natures in Christ, while the folded thumb and last two fingers touch each other to represent the mystery of the Holy Trinity, while his left hand holds a globe sphere surmounted by a cross, signifying the worldwide kingship of Christ, the whole of our universe rests in his hands.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Teresa of Avila are among the saints notable for their strong devotion to the Divine Child. The Infant Jesus known as the patron for children, colleges, family life, foreign missions, freedom, good finances, health, peace, schools, travellers, universities, vocations.

The Feast of the Infant Jesus of Prague is celebrated on the first Sunday of May.

History of the Infant Jesus of Prague

Originally, the Infant Jesus of Prague devotion came from Spain, based on the tradition, Infant Jesus statue was made as in was seen in miraculous apparition by monk to whom Infant Jesus appeared. Some say that the statue belonged to St. Teresa of Avila, the founder of the Discalced Carmelites, who was aflame with a great love for the Child Jesus.

When the Duchess Maria Manrique de Lara came to Bohemia to marry a Bohemian nobleman in 1556, she received the statue from her mother as a wedding gift. When her daughter Polyxena of Lobkowicz was widowed, she gave the precious statue (saying: “I give you what I prizes most highly in the world; honor and respect the child Jesus and you shall never be in want.”) to the monastery of the Discalced Carmelites attached to the church of Our Lady of Victory in 1628.

The Carmelites placed the statue in the novitiate chapel, so that the young monks could learn from the virtues of the Child Jesus. At that time the Thirty Years’ War was raging through Europe and even Infant Jesus was not spared when the Saxon army occupied Prague in 1631. It was only after his return to Prague in 1637 that Father Cyrillus f the Mother of God, originally from Luxemburg, discovered the statue, abandoned in a corner. To his sorrow, however, he found that Infant Jesus had had both hands broken off. At this moment it seemed to him that Infant Jesus was saying to him:

Have mercy on me and I will have mercy on you.
Give me hands and I will give you peace.
The more you honour me, the more I will bless you.

Eventually Father Cyrillus ad new hands made for Infant Jesus. The gold coin invested in this was returned many times over, as the Child Jesus began to bless the monastery, the local people, and the whole of Prague. Miraculous healing were attributed to him, as was the protection of Prague when it was laid siege to by the Swedes in 1639. In 1651 the statue was carried as a pilgrim round all the churches in Prague and in 1655 it was solemnly crowned by the Bishop of Prague.

The Power of Agreement in Prayer

JESUS has revealed to us, the Power of Agreement as in Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." On this promise by the Lord Jesus, we now agree with you in prayer: "Lord God, I now come to you with words. Forgive us of our sins and cleanse us by the blood that Jesus poured for us on the cross at Calvary. I ask you to help, hear and answer our needs that we request through our prayers to you. I agree in prayer with those at by your WORD and in accordance with your holy WILL, YOU will answer and provide help for us. Lord, thank you for answering this prayer, and Thank you for forgiving us. In JESUS name, I pray and dare to claim that all said and requested in this prayer is already DONE. Amen." Thank you, Father GOD, Thank You, JESUS.

Prayer to Our Mother of Perpetual Help

Mother of Perpetual Help,
with the greatest confidence
we come before your holy picture
to be inspired by the example of your life.
We think of you at that moment when,
full of faith and trust,
you accepted God’s call
to be the mother of his Son.
Help us, your children,
to accept with joy our own calling in life.

When you learned that your cousin Elizabeth was in need
you immediately went to serve her
and offer your help.
Help us, like you,
to be concerned for others.

We think of you, Mother,
at the foot of the cross.
Your heart must have bled
to see your Son in agony.

But your joy was great
when he rose from the dead,
victorious over the powers of evil.

Mother of Sorrows,
help us through the trials and
disappointments of life.
Help us not to lose heart.

May we share with you and your Son
the joy of having courageously
faced up to all the challenges of life.

Amen.

Give generously and bountifully

St. Paul to the Corinthians;
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Give like you never have given before. And as God sees your faithfulness, He will bless you with abundance in every area of your life, give you perfect health, and cause His face to shine upon you. Remember, it all begins with the prosperity of your soul.

Deuteronomy 8:18
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Christian Giving ....
1. is an expression of the grace of God
2. is inspired by the cross of Christ.
3. reflects our unity in the Spirit.

Psalm 96
1 Sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

7 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness;
tremble before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
he will judge the peoples with equity.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
13 Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his faithfulness.

Chaplet of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague and the Litany of the Miraculous Infant of Prague

"The More You Honour Me The More I Will Bless You"

The chaplet consists of 3 Our Fathers in honor of the Holy Family, and 12 Hail Marys in memory of the 12 years of the Sacred Infancy of our Divine Saviour. To this chaplet of 15 beads is attached a medal of the Infant Jesus of Prague.

The Little Crown

On the medal the following invocation is said:
Divine Infant Jesus, I adore Thy Cross and I accept all the cross Thou wilt be pleased to send me. Adorable Trinity, I offer Thee for the glory of Thy Holy Name of God, all the adorations of the Sacred Heart of the Holy Infant Jesus.

Each Our Father and Hail Mary is preceded by the aspiration:
"And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us."

On terminating the chaplet say:
Holy Infant Jesus, bless and protect us.

This devotion owes its origin to the zeal of Sister Marguerite, a Carmelite religious, who died in France in 1648. She was distinguished for her devotion to the Holy Child Jesus.

The Divine Infant revealed to His faithful servant how pleasing to Him is this holy practice; He promised her that He would grant special graces, above all purity of heart and innocence, to all who carried the chaplet on their person and recited it in honor of the mysteries of His holy infancy. As a sign of His approval, He showed her these chaplets shining with a supernatural light.

Novena to Our Lady of Good Remedy, in difficulty obtaining help, have Faith she will Help

A brief history Lady of Good Remedy and the novena.

800 years ago Christians were being captured and sold into slavery by the thousands, and nobody knew what to do about it. Then, in the year 1198, a man had an idea. St. John of Matha founded the Trinitarians to go to the slave markets, buy the Christian slaves and set them free. To carry out this plan, the Trinitarians needed large amounts of money. So, they placed their fund-raising efforts under the patronage of Mary. They were so successful at that, over the centuries, the Trinitarians were able to free thousands and thousands of people and to return them safely home. In gratitude for her miraculous assistance, St. John of Matha honored Mary with the title of "Our Lady of Good Remedy." Devotion to Mary under this ancient title is widely known in Europe and Latin America, and the Church celebrates her feast day on October 8. Our Lady of Good Remedy is often depicted as the Virgin Mary handing a bag of money to St. John of Matha. When in need - for whatever reason, but especially where you have had difficulty obtaining help - invoke the aid of Our Lady of Good Remedy, and you will surely experience the power of her intercession.

OUR LADY OF GOOD REMEDY NOVENA

O QUEEN OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, Most Holy Virgin, we venerate thee. Thou art the beloved Daughter of the Most High God, the chosen Mother of the Incarnate Word, the Immaculate Spouse of the Holy Spirit, the Sacred Vessel of the Most Holy Trinity.
O Mother of the Divine Redeemer, who under the title of Our Lady of Good Remedy comes to the aid of all who call upon thee, extend thy maternal protection to us. We depend on thee, Dear Mother, as helpless and needy children depend on a tender and caring mother.

Hail, Mary....

O LADY OF GOOD REMEDY, source of unfailing help, grant that we may draw from thy treasury of graces in our time of need.
Touch the hearts of sinners, that they may seek reconciliation and forgiveness. Bring comfort to the afflicted and the lonely; help the poor and the hopeless; aid the sick and the suffering. May they be healed in body and strengthened in spirit to endure their sufferings with patient resignation and Christian fortitude.

Hail, Mary....

DEAR LADY OF GOOD REMEDY, source of unfailing help, thy compassionate heart knows a remedy for every affliction and misery we encounter in life. Help me with thy prayers and intercession to find a remedy for my problems and needs, especially for... (Indicate your special intentions here).
On my part, O loving Mother, I pledge myself to a more intensely Christian lifestyle, to a more careful observance of the laws of God, to be more conscientious in fulfilling the obligations of my state in life, and to strive to be a source of healing in this broken world of ours.
Dear Lady of Good Remedy, be ever present to me, and through thy intercession, may I enjoy health of body and peace of mind, and grow stronger in the faith and in the love of thy Son, Jesus.

Hail, Mary.....

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of Good Remedy,
R. That we may deepen our dedication to thy Son, and make the world alive with His Spirit.
