Run to Jesus ! ~ St.Therese of Lisieux

When the enemy wants to challenge me,
I conduct myself valiantly.
Knowing that to fight a duel is an unworthy act, I
turn my back on the adversary
without ever looking him in the face.
Then I run to my Jesus.
~ Saint Thérèse of Lisieux ~

The A-B-C of the Divine Mercy message

The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering the ABC.

Ask for His Mercy.
God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

Be merciful.
God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

Completely trust in Jesus.
God wants us to know that the graces of His mercy are dependent upon our trust. The more we trust in Jesus, the more we will receive.

The Divine Mercy Image

It is more than just a religious icon or painting. It is an actual visual representation of the person of Jesus as He appeared to St. Faustina on 22 February 1931. Jesus instructed her to have the vision painted with the words “Jesus I Trust in You” inscribed on the painting. The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the depths of Jesus’ tender mercy when His agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. The Image represents the graces of Divine Mercy poured out upon the world, especially through Baptism and the Eucharist.

St. Faustina wrote in her diary as follows:
“The evening, when I was in my cell, I saw the Lord Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand was raised in the gesture of blessing, the other was touching the garment at the breast. From beneath the garment, slightly drawn aside at the breast, there were emanating two large rays, one red, the other pale. In silence I kept my gaze fixed on the Lord; my soul was struck with awe, but also with great joy. After a while, Jesus said to me, Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and then throughout the world. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory".(Diary, 47-48)

Our Lady of Fatima to Sister Lucia ~ 13 May 1917

Apparition message on Sunday, 13 May, 1917

Our Lady: "Do not be afraid. I will do you no harm."

Lucia: "Where are you from?"

Our Lady: "I am from Heaven."

Lucia: "What do you want of us?"

Our Lady: "I came to ask you to come here on the thirteenth day for six months at this same time, and then I will tell you who I am and what I want. And afterwards, I will return here a seventh time."

Lucia: "Will I go to Heaven?"

Our Lady: "Yes, you will."

Lucia: "And Jacinta?"

Our Lady: "She also."

Lucia: "And Francisco? Will he go to Heaven too?"

Our Lady: "Yes, but first he must say many rosaries."

Our Lady: "Would you like to offer yourselves to God to accept all the sufferings which He may send to you in reparation for the countless sins by which He is offended and in supplication for the conversionof sinners?

Lucia: "Yes."

Our Lady: "Then you will have much to suffer, but the grace of God will be your comfort."

All Three: "O Most Holy Trinity I adore Thee. My God, my God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed Sacrament."

Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels Feast Day

29 September 2013

The Sacred Scriptures have revealed the proper names of only three Angels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.

O God, who dispose in marvelous order ministries both angelic and human, graciously grant that our life on earth may be defended by those who watch over us as they minister perpetually to you in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Novena to St. Michael the Archangel
September 21 - 29, Feast Day 29 September

St. Michael the Archangel, loyal champion of God and His people, I turn to you with confidence and seek your powerful intercession. For the love of God, Who made you so glorious in grace and power, and for the love of the Mother of Jesus, the Queen of the Angels, be pleased to hear my prayer. You know the value on my soul in the eyes of God. May no stain of evil ever disfigure its beauty. Help me to conquer the evil spirit who tempts me. I desire to imitate your loyalty to God and Holy Mother Church and your great love for God and people. And since you are God's messenger for the care of his people, I entrust to you this special request: (Mention your request).

St. Michael, since you are, by the Will of the Creator, the powerful intercessor of Christians, I have great confidence in your prayers. I earnestly trust that if it is God's holy Will, my petition will be granted.

Pray for me, St. Michael, and also for those I love. Protect us in all dangers of body and soul. Help us in our daily needs. Through your powerful intercession, may we live a holy life, die a happy death, and reach heaven where we may praise and love God with you forever. Amen.

Novena to St. Gabriel the Archangel
September 21 - 29, Feast Day 29 September

St. Gabriel the Archangel, I venerate you as the "Angel of the Incarnation," because God has specially appointed you to bear the messages concerning the God-Man to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Give me a tender and devoted Mother, more like your own.

I venerate you also as the "strength from God," because you are the giver of God's strength, consoler and comforter chosen to strengthen God's faithful and to teach them important truths. I ask for the grace of a special power of the will to strive for holiness of life. Steady my resolutions, renew my courage, comfort and console me in the problems, trials, and sufferings of daily living, as you consoled our Savior in His agony and Mary in her sorrows and Joseph in his trials. I put my confidence in you.

St. Gabriel, I ask you especially for this favor: (Mention your request). Through your earnest love for the Son of God-Made-Man and for His blessed Mother, I beg of you, intercede for me that my request may be granted, if it be God's holy Will.

Pray for us, St. Gabriel the Archangel.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us Pray. Almighty and ever-living God, since You chose the Archangel Gabriel from among all the Angels to announce the mystery of Your Son's Incarnation, mercifully grant that we who honor him on earth may feel the benefit of his patronage in heaven. You live and reign for ever. Amen.

Novena to St. Raphael the Archangel
September 21 - 29, Feast Day 29 September

Holy Archangel Raphael, standing so close to the throne of God and offering Him our prayers, I venerate you as God's special Friend and Messenger. I choose you as my Patron and wish to love and obey you as young Tobiah did. I consecrate to you my body and soul, all my work, and my whole life. I want you to be my Guide and Counselor in all the dangerous and difficult problems and decisions of my life.

Remember, dearest, St. Raphael, that the grace of God preserved you with the good Angels in heaven when the proud ones were cast into hell. I entreat you, therefore, to help me in my struggle against the world, the spirit of impurity, and the devil. Defend me from all dangers and every occasion of sin. Direct me always in the way of peace, safety, and salvation. Offer my prayers to God as you offered those of Tobiah, so that through your intercession I may obtain the graces necessary for the salvation of my soul. I ask you to pray that God grant me this favor if it be His holy Will: (Mention your request).

St. Raphael, help me to love and serve my God faithfully, to die in His grace, and finally to merit to join you in seeing and praising God forever in heaven. Amen.

Jesus, because you loved me

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'cuz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'cuz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

Let your Light Shine

"Let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven"
Matthew 5:16

You are God’s representative in this earth. When you follow the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are letting your light shine. When you are good to people and show them kindness, even when they don’t deserve it, you are shining your light. When you smile and keep a good attitude, even when things don’t go your way, you are setting an example so that people will glorify God in heaven. Notice this scripture says, “they will see your good works…” People aren’t impressed by our knowledge or what we say, people are drawn to God by our good works.

Ask the Lord to show you ways to share His goodness with others. Look for opportunities to let your light shine everywhere you go - at home, at work, in the grocery store, at the gym. There’s always an opportunity to be an example of God’s goodness. As you do, it will bring honor and glory to God; and when you honor Him, He always honors you. He will continue to pour out His abundant blessing in every area of your life.

"No human sin can erase the mercy of God
or prevent him from unleashing all his triumphant power,
if we only call upon him.
Indeed, sin itself makes even more radiant
the love of the Father.
In order to ransom a slave,
he sacrificed his Son:
his mercy toward us is Redemption."

...by the Love we that do our Action ~ St. Therese of Lisieux

Acts of Faith, Hope, and Love
O my God!
I believe in Thee, strengthen my faith.
All my hopes are in Thee, do Thou secure them.
I love Thee, teach me to love Thee daily more and more.

O Lord, You have said:
Unless you become as little children
you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven;
grant us, we beg You, so to follow,
in humility and simplicity of heart,
the footsteps of the Virgin blessed Thérèse,
that we may attain to an everlasting reward.
Amen.

Lord, help us to do little things with great love
just as Saint Therese of the Child Jesus did.

St. Luke, Evangelist (Feast)

St. Luke
the Evangelist

Feast day : 18 October

Saint Luke was from Antioch. He was from Greek family and was a trained physician. He is the author the third gospel known as the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. His gospel is considered the most poetic and beautiful among the four gospel. He was one of the first Gentile converted to Christianity, and he became a travelling companion of Saint Paul on his many missionary journeys. Saint Luke's gospel was believed to be an accurate account of the life of Christ, especially of Christ's birth and this is the reason, Luke was taken as one of the patrons of notaries. Luke is the only evangelist to record in his gospel about Jesus commissioning the seventy-two disciples (Luke 10:1-12).

Saint Luke died in 70 A.D. He is the patron of the medical profession, bachelors, artists, painters, sculptors and craft workers. His name "Luke" means "bringer of light".

Lord God, who chose Saint Luke to reveal by his preaching and writings the mystery of your love for the poor, grant that those who already glory in your name may persevere as one heart and one soul and that all nations may merit to see your salvation. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

St. Luke, Evangelist (Feast)

Reading
2 Timothy 4: 10 - 17

10For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessaloni'ca; Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia.
11Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you; for he is very useful in serving me.
12Tych'icus I have sent to Ephesus.
13When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Tro'as, also the books, and above all the parchments.
14Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will requite him for his deeds.
15Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message.
16At my first defense no one took my part; all deserted me. May it not be charged against them!
17But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength to proclaim the message fully, that all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth.

Psalm
Psalms 145: 10 - 13, 17 - 18

10All thy works shall give thanks to thee, O LORD, and all thy saints shall bless thee!
11They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and tell of thy power,
12to make known to the sons of men thy mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of thy kingdom.
13Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endures throughout all generations. The LORD is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.
17The LORD is just in all his ways, and kind in all his doings.
18The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.

Gospel
Luke 10: 1 - 9

1After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come.
2And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
3Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.
4Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals; and salute no one on the road.
5Whatever house you enter, first say, `Peace be to this house!'
6And if a son of peace is there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you.
7And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages; do not go from house to house.
8Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you;
9heal the sick in it and say to them, `The kingdom of God has come near to you.'
